Hello! Some may have seen my “Dog Dumper” post and the contents of that….really crappy. I can come back and link the post for the info on how we ended up with her.

I’ve had this girl now for five days. She’s been scanned for a chip (has one, owner is unresponsive), Leigh’s Lost and Found, so many other things to try to get her reunited. Only option is to surrender to Animal Control, as all rescues are at max capacity. I don’t want to do that…literally at all.

She’s amazing, but we cannot keep her. I’ll list her details below and maybe she will find her forever home.

• Female/Spayed
• 5 yrs old
• Housebroken (mostly seems to be- I would pick up her food/water a couple hours before bed to avoid accidents)
• Knows basic commands: sit/stay
• Great with kids, has even become protective. Mine are 11, 10, and 20 months.
• Cannot pinpoint if there’s a certain “type” of person she doesn’t like, she seems territorial over myself and my husband, but that’s likely because we saved her. Has been reactive to other people, but if you’re dog experienced you understand she’s not aggressive.
• Doesn’t have any presenting health issues
• Coat is shiny, bowel movements have been healthy and haven’t had any concerns.
• Does well with harness and leash, have to keep close when other dogs are around. She’s not aggressive per se, more so reactive.

I’m sure there’s some details I missed but I wanted to try here, because it’s my last good try. We can’t let her go anywhere where she will be an “outside dog” etc. I would prefer that you’re well-vetted. $50 adoption fee. Comes with food, bed, a toy, leash and harness. Will waive fee for serious and earnest person.

We rescued a dumped dog once and adopted him out through CARE. If you’re willing to sponsor the dog, CARE will help with the adoption process (list the dog on the website, etc). https://www.carerescue.org[1][2]

If no one will adopt her, instead of taking her to Animal Control which is a kill shelter, you can take her to Southwest Missouri Humane Society which is a no-kill shelter.

Also, if a well-vetted person would like to adopt her I will pay the adoption fee. OP can message me with any questions or potential adopter information. Also OP, I'm very glad you are will to well-vet whoever would like to adopt this sweet girl.

For a second I thought you got pictures of my dog somehow, but the ears sit different. Same age, and gender too. Sounds a lot like how my dog behaves, even!

Hope she gets to a good home, I'd offer but I am not in a position yet for another dog, even one that seems like my own dog's twin lol.

Just a thought, if you use words like “protective” and “territorial” and “reactive”, it sends some people a red flag. She’s pretty, and from her side profile it appears she maybe has some pit bull in her. It’s sad that the shelters are full, good luck on finding her a forever home. Edit: I forgot to add a word

If she’s reactive that isn’t good.. I have a pit bull and we pay for her yearly as it’s against city ordinance not to.. one wrong move and you are fined AND she’s taken on a no second chance. Anyone who adopts this dog needs to understand that.
