Not necessary. Also, that sucks for you, but it's expected.. The 8800 and 9800 lines were some of the best graphics cards for the money (and time they were released) ever built.
Anything ending with a 500 or less that comes from nvidia is going to be severely handicapped compared to the higher levels of that generation. You're dealing with literally half the graphical power of the _800 cards of that generation.
