I was on a train maybe minutes before this happened, we had to be stopped at Civic for the bart police to take away a man who was smoking meth on the train. He was covered in shit and it caked all over the seat. I really can’t take it here sometimes

Was at Powell when this was going on. Paramedics and police were in full presence. Train said it wasn't gonna stop at Civic Center but ultimately did. Hopefully she's okay 🙏

What a horrible event, I hope you did not see the crime in progress.
I think we passed her! We got caught up in the crazy closure coming up from Muni underground walking across to the BART turnstile. Since people were evacuating and we had a movie to catch, we decided to turn around and walk inside the station to 8th to take a bus instead. Walking towards us, there were paramedics pushing a petite dark brown haired young woman (maybe in her 20s) on a gurney, talking with her and a few cops walking with them too. The girl appeared to have blood soaking through her top but otherwise seemed to be ok?
I am so frustrated with BART and MUNI and SFPD passing the buck. That was the second violent altercation this week in SF (I think also at Civic Center).
Edited: clarity

I was here when it happened. I remember hearing a group of young people yelling, trying to get a young woman in shorts, a gray t-shirt, and a hair covering off the ground. She was distraught, but it wasn't clear why. Her friends were grabbing her arms, trying to lift her off the ground because the eastbound train had just arrived. A man with a dog on a leash was standing in the doorway of the train, unsure if he was part of their group, but it seemed like he was holding the train so the group could get their friend off the ground and onto the train.
I looked away for a few moments until I heard passengers on the eastbound train yell at the man to stop holding up the train. I looked back and the young lady was now up and walking around unsteadily. She was sobbing and yelling, and that's when I saw the blood on her abdomen seeping through her shirt. A man standing nearby started asking everyone around if they had paper towels.
This was also the same time the westbound train pulled into the station. I hopped on the train and called the cops and Bart police and gave them all the info I could.
It's only been a day but I'm still a little shook, definitely the craziest thing I've seen here.

We need to start holding our government accountable and have them actually make laws defending the citizens not the criminal. and enforce them

Guys remember San Francisco actually has comparable crime rates to Nashville and the city is actually safe. Don’t believe these Republican hit pieces!
