Exactly. You are a white American. We are Mexican-Americans. We are chicanos. We are humans with Mexican heritage, children, grandchildren, and family of Mexican immigrants. We are a culture in America, and we are proud of our heritage. We will not abandon our parent’s roots just to be accepted by others. We should be able to appreciate our culture and still be respected as humans by others, not ripped apart and thrown out and harassed. The flag a symbol that represents this, it represents our duality.

Because I’m an American.
Four words that perfectly put your close mindedness on display. Just cause your decided to lock yourself in on celebrating solely your nationality doesn't mean others should too. There's absolutely nothing wrong with people celebrating their ethnical roots, especially when they practice lots of their ethnical culture.
I don’t go to protests and wave Norwegian flags around.
And the real reason for this is because 1) you're white so you don't have to worry about your family and their lives being uprooted and 2) you've probably never bothered to experience or celebrate your Norwegian culture because you're too busy being simply and American.
