Long time poster, first Daily

It's the first work day of the new month, and I'm so glad to put January behind us.

Let's start this month off with some positivity. What are we looking forward to during February?

I'm home sick from work today, been feeling gross all weekend - reading what makes everyone excited this month will help me stay sane.

Starting at a new job today after spontaneously quitting my last one 5 months ago.

I'm feeling all kinds of emotions this morning, and I don't start until 10 lol

I’m going to California for the first time at the end of the month. I’m spending a week in LA for a work thing but I’ll have a couple of days to explore. I’m very excited!!

I quit weed. I've been working out more. On wednesday the first delivery of my meal service will show up and that will help force me to eat healthier. I've signed up for several classes in the area to get me out of the apt., meeting people, being more social, stepping out of my comfort zone (but they all start in march).

I've decided for the time being I'm going to avoid paying attention to politics and current events and just work on improving myself, and I feel like I made some big strides in Jan, so I'm hoping to keep that momentum going through Feb.

The world is kinda on fire, and it seems like its gonna get worse before it gets better (if it gets better) so I gotta be the best version of myself to have any chance of making it through.

I took a personal day today, just not feeling the desk. Think I might go for a walk down by the river later.

Put an offer in on a house this weekend in Henrico! That was fun while it lasted. Just found out they have 3 offers 50K over asking... sigh...

I changed up my hair care routine. I finally used a clarifying shampoo, new consitioner and a leave in conditioner and my hair never felt so soft. Hopefully this can help against dry hair.

Sorry you are sick!

I’m excited about some warmer temps this week… even if they are fleeting! Also happy to be reunited with my pups after a long weekend of travel without her 🥹🐾☀️

I’m buying a car this month and I’m super excited because I haven’t had one for over a month. I miss driving and having the freedom to just go somewhere.

I’m also going to start to declutter and start selling anything I can so I can move ❤️

I am so excited for spring salamander migrations to start and for spring frogs to start calling. I cling to every harbinger of spring!

I quit vaping last night! I can’t control a lot, but I can control me. And I want to be in peak form for the impending end of the world lol

I leave for vacation on the 14th! Looking forward to a week of not working, but I dislike leaving my pets. The eternal struggle.

I'm also home sick today with whatever head cold is going around.. I keep telling people I feel like a watermelon under water, if that makes any sense! I'm looking forward to feeling better soon and hope you do too OP. Other than that, I'm looking forward to figuring out whether or not I have a gene that's drastically going to change my future health decisions... my brother and I both have appointments this month to determine that. Fingers crossed.

In case you've been financially affected by the water crisis in January and missed it, you can now apply for assistance.[1] Applications are open through March 14 or until funding runs out.

I swear this said “Fridaily” when I first woke up at 5am.. made me very confused and I went back to sleep for an extra 30.

Now I’m just wondering if the sleep helped or if it was corrected.

Anyways, happy Monday, hope everyone has a good week!

Local coffee shop was empty this morning… Trump’s tariffs threats are already stoking drawbacks in consumer spending. This will only get worse as they go into effect and prices increase. What republican with the sane mind thinks any of this is a good idea? Call your local official and tell them to put pressure on him to stop this nonsense.

I’m looking forward to two things, both involving writing. One is writing a page every day diving into the etymology and usage of words. The other is trying to send one positive and supportive text to someone each day.

Our world feels dark, and I’m determined to blaze the light of love brightly.

Been really worried about work - wife and I moved to RVA early last year because I was working a project that was fully remote. That project ended early, though, and my boss has just been keeping me around because he's maybe the last company owner in the country who knows that it's less expensive to keep existing employees than it is to train new ones.

But he just called today to let me know he's got some new work for me starting at the end of the month! It's not super long term, but it's something. It's in Sacramento, so we're going to try to turn that work trip into a little anniversary trip too.

Got back yesterday from a trip to see friends in MD and the new pandas, then not leaving VA again until the end of the month. I’m so excited to not have to leave for the next 4 weeks after going out of state every 2-3 weeks since September, and I haven’t done a normal grocery trip since October or gone to the gym more than once since then either.

I’ve seen most of my family, all of my best friends, and my favorite coworkers in the span of 5 weeks, all of whom live out of state and made up the majority of the recent trips. The introvert burnout has been so real.

If you ordered shake shack last night off grubhub and got my taco bell order instead I would like to say I have saved you from a terrible fate.

I delighted in getting something better last night and enjoyed the food then, but little did I know hell was broiling below, today I have become 10 lbs lighter and feel like a shriveled raisin.

the sounds and smells should not have been unleashed in this Earth. Is this karma, divine intervention? I don't know, all I do know is I have to take another shit.
