View submission: Let’s Talk About the Video Player
Specifically:
1. Videos should not go full screen without explicit user action (tapping a Fullscreen button). Tapping just the play button or comment button doesn't count.
2. Videos should not advance to a different video without user action.
2a. The action to advance to a different video should be unique. For example, if I'm in a view with the video playing at the top, and the comments below, a swipe down of the separator hides the comments and makes the video full screen. A swipe up should bring back the comments, not change to the next video.

3. Scrolling down when in full screen should **NOT** go to the next video. This is not TikTok or something. I want to move forward on my front page, not on the subreddit on which the video that I tapped on was posted on

Thank you for the constructive note, it’s very helpful. If you don’t mind also sharing in r/fixthevideoplayer that will help us log and track this feedback.

Hear hear! All these things would make me happy with the video player and I would pretty much consider it fixed and functioning properly if they did these things + get rid of the weird problem where videos don't play if I haven't forced closed the app in a while.

Good god this pisses me off when it happens. And it's mostly news sites that are guilty of it.

All that I want is to disable the looping feature so that way I can actually see what happened in that one frame at the end. Also because I don’t wanna hear the exact same 5 second clip of a guy saying ‘Hamburger’ over and over again while reading the comments. (Yes, I know I can pause the video, but sometimes I’m just to lazy for that.) The looping feature should only be on for gifs by default imo.

All of this is built-in in a client like infinity.
