I've used Reddit is Fun for years, it is one of the more popular 3rd party apps, never heard of any security issues with it. Baconreader has been around forever as well, same deal, tho I've not used it myself.

I've been using Sync for 7 years now (including to type this very comment) and have never had a single problem. The same could be said for other popular apps just as old like BaconReader and RIF. Hell, the official app came into existence because Reddit bought out Alien Blue, the most popular Reddit app on iOS.

I trust the developers of third party Reddit apps that have now been in production for several years longer than the official app, more than the official app.
