Because reddit is somehow free to administer and no one has to pay one penny for all the servers that allowed you to make that comment, right?
How dare they do something to try to help pay for the costs to help keep the website free for you to use! How dare they! How dare they do anything to pay back their investors that allowed this website to stay up and running for you! How dare they!
