People who lost a coins balance in this transition do have access to a number of exclusive awards to give for free, though we recognize this is not the same as a coins balance.
This iteration of the feature is still in very early days. We’ve noted that some mod teams are interested in custom awards in certain subreddits, but it is too early to say whether these or other features will become available.

What makes up for the monthly coin drip that was ripped away for this new system. Is that just lost now, or will there be some kind of compensation (payout in additional premium or awards to give out?).

Literally the only reason that I bought Reddit premium was to get monthly coins to give awards. Can we please have monthly rewards back? Reddit premium is super lame and I regret purchasing it. 😞

You say that, and I got an email saying that... but I still haven't received any awards to give, despite the boatload of coins I lost in the transition.
