So you haven't learned from your mistake here, got it.

Fortunately last I checked before you guys removed rewards, new.reddit had plenty of options to disable awards on my subreddits. Suppose I'll take another look at that.

But a problem is the awards given--that I bought with my real money--do not show on the post on old reddit either. Will the recipient at least still get a mail notification that someone gave him an award? I mean, will he still get all the relevant information about the award even he flat out refuses to use New Reddit? As a mod, I am less likely to buy awards to give to someone that I do not know is using new reddit.

EDIT: also, the awards I just gave to a comment and a post are not showing on desktop version of new Reddit. It's only showing on mobile. Limiting the number of users who see the award I give gives me another thing to think about before deciding to spend money to buy more.

Once old Reddit is gone you will lose a good chunk of users. I really don’t get you, we are filled with ads every fucking day on TV, music streaming, YouTube, instagram and so on. I come to old Reddit to feel like I’m on the old internet. That’s what Reddit was all about, You should know that, make gold available on there and youll still make money.

I don’t come to Reddit to make a “profile” and open myself up to advertisers, I come here to talk about my hobbies and world news anonymously. The whole idea of what Reddit stood for is gone. You guys could be profitable and still manage to let people experience the old internet

So I guess if someone abuses this as a mod on my subs, I won't ever see the abuse. My entire mod team on both my major subs exclusively use old reddit and only go to new reddit when absolutely necessary to change a setting only available there.

Old awards were visible and usable on old reddit so this one should be, too.

What about on new.reddit.com[1] ? It's different from the UI that's on regular Reddit.com[2] for me.

1: http://new.reddit.com

2: http://Reddit.com

Your jank-ass new awards are not going to make people use your jank-ass new Reddit.

No, this experience won't be available on old reddit.

And you thought it was wise to not mention this key point at all in your announcement or FAQ *why*, exactly? It kind of makes the whole "mea culpa" angle ring hollow. All of us on old reddit were reading along trying to understand this new overly-complicated award/gold/contributor system, when you'd actually gaslighted us, and it's not available to us at all. Along with our coins we lost last July.

I'm sorry, I'm never going to use New Reddit or the mobile app. I will buy awards, however, but obviously only if they are available on Old Reddit.
