Holy shit does that guy have a "fight the power" agenda. He seems to wholly ignore your point that, barring CP, any user can start any subreddit they want, which really is about as fair as you can make the system. I never understood this insistence that a subreddit becomes owned by a swelling of newcomers. So many people have the mentality that they should be allowed to have a say in something already successful, rather than toiling away at building something better from the ground up. It's a parasitic outlook.

I love the idea about a SFW /all being the 'default' reddit- the only 'drama' I've heard was this post, and the one post by the mods about removing a CP subreddit.
In other parts of the internet, people refer to specific subreddits as if they're their own forums: bodybuilding forums will talk about /fitness, 4chan's fashion board will talk about /malefashionadvice. I think what this guy doesn't understand is that it takes a lot of work to make a subreddit popular: /Moscow[1] has 308 readers, and that took several months of tracking comments on metareddit (99% of which were about the cocktail Moscow Mule, or the band Moscow Radio), and me personally messaging people to ask them to join.
