Unpopular opinion, while Dolores is fantastic, this place was way better.

I want them to bring El Rancho Grandeā€™s Cochinita Pibil over to Dolores. I would eat there every week if they did!

Dolores is so expensive in comparison to Rancho. I donā€™t know why gentrification keeps happening!

Dolores is incredible food. The family is absolutely amazing and they definitely earned their success. The food is delicious at Dolores and the vibe is immaculate. They still work their asses off. Iā€™m excited for their spot in track 15.

I love dolores, but it can be expensive. If you haven't already, check out tuxpan. Their enchiladas are amazing.

I miss this place so much. We used to go here for lunch and drink way too many cantoritos!! I loved their tortas because of the bread they used. I donā€™t think Dolores has it on their menu.

Sighā€¦.

All the folks who loved ERG and donā€™t like Dolores must be some cheap folks because Dolores is way more fire, way less of a hassle, more comfortable room and better (not perfect) experience. What do you want from ERG That they donā€™t serve at Dolores? I love the mole (still fire) and the nachos (late night menu). You can still order tacos and margarita for the same price as everywhere else. Literally nobody else makes their own masa from scratch.

Show the family love instead of dissing them for trying to make money off the East side crowd. You would too if you could! Accusing a Mexican immigrant family of gentrification on the East side is stupid. Just a different concept.

My favorite. I was thinkingabout the fish wrapped in banana leaves with plantains the other day. It was always so packed that I just assumed they would eventually move to a bigger spot. Super bummed when they decided to just do Dolores instead.

For those who miss El Rancho Grande, keep an eye out for the opening of Track 15, the food hall that will be in the former Providence station between Kennedy Plaza and Waterplace Park. It sounds like they will be doing some more casual dining from the same chefs: ā€œThe Dolores outpost in Track 15 will be a more casual venture centered on tacos and sandwiches. They have their own tortilla press inside their stall, where they will make both flour and corn tortillas using corn from three different regions of Mexico. They use a molino to grind the maize into masa and focus on the complex process of nixtamalization for tortillas.

Tacos will be filled with braised meats including chicken, as well as a special taco arabe served on pita instead of corn tortillas, a precursor to al pastor which is derived from Middle Eastern immigrants who arrived in Mexico in the 1920s. Vegetarian options will also be available. ā€œThe idea is to focus more on street food; food thatā€™s eaten at the mercados in Puebla and Oaxaca,ā€ Joaquin Meza says.ā€œ
