View submission: Trump’s 60 Minutes interview once again reveals gross ignorance and wild dishonesty
What the fuck has happened to the GOP? They used to he professional people who practiced professionalism, respect, and grace who just happened to have different ideas about how the country should be run. Now they get excited when the president singles out a private citizen and makes fun of her, mocks abraham lincoln, and will stop at nothing just to get liberal tears. What the fuck?

The party you're thinking of hasn't existed in at least 4 decades.

Honestly what people don’t want to talk about is the main thing that changed was becoming better at market research. The Republican Party has evolved to this because this is what their voters actually want. They are responding to the demands and votes of their constituents. The republican leaders are only a symptom of the problem. It’s the republican voters who are the disease.

Trumpism is a symptom of a larger cause happening around the world. People are losing faith in democracy. They’re becoming more willing to give authoritarian politicians a chance to shake up a system they no longer trust.
Here at home it looks like the GOP lost its mind out of nowhere. But if you look just across the Atlantic, far right, anti-democracy nationalist movements are showing up all over Europe and gaining power in Germany, Greece, Italy, France, and Britain.
We are living in interesting times.
