I think the beaver who floods the river is on a lower level than the human who dumps chemicals into the river and poisons it for the foreseeable future. There's a difference.

Not if it's what humans must do to survive. Now, of course there are better alternatives to dumping toxic waste in rivers. But things like this will always happen in humanity until it becomes easier to dispose of toxic waste in a better way for the environment because that is just how society works. But to say dumping ANY toxic waste somewhere that is not 100% environmental friendly is morally wrong is just absurd. Whether people like it or not, humanity isn't and will never be comprised of 100% environmentalist hippies.
People need to stop putting all of the blame on individual human beings, but also put the blame on the limits of the human race (how we act, function, behave as mere organisms). We humans are just fucking animals with the relatively same limitations as any other creature on this planet.
