You shouldn't need any stipulations regarding space or time, these are just where imagination tends to fail in trying to hunt down all the possible means of discriminating otherwise identical individuals.

Isn't "identical individuals" an oxymoron though? How can they be absolutely individual without something to distinguish them (like position in space/time)? Otherwise is it not just one single unit being observed?
Edit: after reading the "banking" comment below, this concept makes *much more* sense to me now.
