So, someone had the bright idea to stamp 'For Deposit Only' right across Benjamin Franklin’s face on this $100 bill. I took it to Western Union and a few currency exchange places in Lahore, but they all refused to accept it.
Now I’m stuck with this bill. Is there any way to exchange it, or is it pretty much wasted? Has anyone faced this issue before? Any advice would be appreciated!

As someone said before, your best option is to give it to someone going abroad. They’ll probably take it because there’s nothing wrong with the note, just a slight stamp. Don’t use ethanol or whatever. Wait for a bit and exchange with someone you know who’s going abroad.

Give it to someone who travels or will travel to US. It can be used there without issue.

dip cotton in 95-98% ethanol and rub it on the ink. If you cant find ethanol then you can go to medical store and get bottle of 98% isopropyl alcohol and do the same.

If no money exchange is accepting this (which surprises me) you can go the duty-free currency exchange market [1]behind the Punjab Assembly. They'll offer you a rate, likely below the market rate, and you could decide if that works for you or not.

Crazy to think how that bill will be perfectly acceptable in the US but Pakistan won't take it, your best bet is to find someone who comes and goes from the US and exchange it with them.
Just out of curiosity, I work at a bank here in the states and there's always Pakistanis and other desis who insist on brand new freshly printed bills to take back to Pakistan/India/Bangladesh with them. Some of them are super entitled and start arguments and threaten to close their accounts if we don't have brand new bills to give to them, and when my coworkers ask me *why* I literally don't know what to tell them.
I understand wanting the new blue style (compared to the old style of 100 dollar bills) and cleaner bills, but like why is this such a big deal? A 100 dollar bill is a 100 dollar bill

Firstly, you shouldn't have accepted it. Best option now would be to give it to someone going to USA or exchange it below market value.

I think it can be deposited into a US DOLLAR (foreign currency) Bak Account. You can ask someone who holds such an account to deposit there and get the money from them.

I wonder if you could go to the U.S. Consulate in Pakistan to exchange it for a bill without the stamp

This reminds me of National Savings staff who used to un-staple the whole pack of 1000 Rs currency notes, as it came stapled. In splitting that they wrecked the whole pack. As the staples were strong.
Once a guy in Passport Office wrote something on my Passport. The same people who object on anything written on those pages.
