I’m heartbroken and fed up with this place. Let me tell you a incident that’s been tearing me apart.

There was this man—a hardworking man who drove a rickshaw for a living, hauling loads to survive. About four months ago, he got into a bad bike accident and has been stuck in bed ever since. His family’s only hope fell on his 14-year-old son, a kid who started driving the rickshaw himself—doing tough, grown-up work just to keep them going. I met him once before, and I could see the effort he put in, the weight he carried for his age.

Yesterday, after Asr prayer, I saw him again. He looked broken, quieter than usual. I walked up and asked, “Aj gaye nahi kahin rickshaw le kay?” His voice was low, almost a whisper, as he said, “Aj subha hi rickshaw chori ho gaya.” I was stunned. “Kese?” I asked. He explained, “Mein zuhar ki namaz parhny laga tha masjid mein namaz parhi aur bahir aya to rickshaw nahi tha.” Then, right there in front of me, he started crying—a kid, sobbing over something he couldn’t stop.

I stood there, frozen, as anger and despair hit me hard. That rickshaw was their everything, and someone stole it while he was praying in the month of Ramadan. Who does that? What kind of place lets a struggling boy get crushed like this? It makes me think we deserve whatever wrath might come our way from Allah. We’re living among devils—people who’d rob a child of his last hope without a second thought.

I’m done with this. Watch yourselves, hold on to what’s yours, and if you can, get out of this messed-up country while you still have a chance.

OP i really hope you take responsibility and help us by running the fundraiser for the kid, buying him a new rickshaw and keeping us updated throughout.

Share his no so we can send some zakat his way. You don’t have to ask their permission or tell them. Just tell them people will be sending you money to help you.

Do share there no and the details so we can verify before sending. A lot of people will give zakat in this month. Such people are really deserving of this.

And pray for the thief to get cancer. To suffer. To regret. To be paralysed, unable to scream for help for the rest of his life.

Yeah, definitely would contribute to that too. What DOES a rickshaw cost in Pakistan? Just wondering if there might be an option to assist more than just this young man and his family, if there is enough financial input from the Reddit community?

Ps would really appreciate a Gofundme with an English translation too, if you manage to set one up. Can't read Urdu :-(.
