Good morning,

My wife and I recently moved to Oviedo from Miami and we were wonder what would be the closest thing to Flanigan's here in Orlando. Any and all suggestions are appreciated. Flanigan's is a SF restaurant chain just in case anyone is wondering. I'm sure my Miami people will know immediately.

Close-ish: Miller's and Gators but definitely not same

Nothing compares to Flanigan‘s, but fiddler’s green in Winter Park is a great Irish bar/restaurant

Like they said, nothing compares. Those wings and pitcher special, man those were good.

From Miami, transplant here. Moved here 10 years ago after living my whole life in Miami. Nothing close to Flannys. This & Cuban food (Islas Canarias) & maybe Frankie’s pizza on Bird Road is all I miss.

You are going to have to look for local spots in your area for something similar. Gators is hit or miss, mostly miss. We have Ale House in Miami, so not really a comparison…. Depends what area you are in & if there is a local place close by.

No exact comparison exists, but here are some that might help fill the void:

1. Any of the ale house locations - although some are way better than others. I can say the one on Lee Rd. sucks, the one on 50 was ok in the past. Haven't been to the UCF or Full sail/winter park locations in forever. They have that mix of seafood and wings, buffalo chicken sandwiches, zingers. I feel like the seafood went way downhill post covid though.

2. Gators Dockside - pretty similar to Ale House. Used to be known for their wings.

3. Friendly Confines - Also similar, basic cheap drinks and bar food. I think there are a couple locations remaining.

4. The Hideaway Bar in Lake Ivanhoe - HOME | The Hideaway[1] - a dive bar with good burgers

5. Lastly, hear me out on this one - Long Doggers in coastal Central Florida - Long Doggers | Radically Relaxed Grill & Brew[2] - mix of burgers and seafood, affordable. I make it a point to stop by here when I make a trip to the beach. It's simple, but always good and consistent.

What’s the appeal of flanigans? Sorry I lived in miami for 6 plus years. I just don’t remember it as being memorable..

I'm not familiar with Flanigan's, but after looking at it online I'll suggest Beef O'Brady's. There's one in Oviedo.

I’m originally from Palm Beach and I have yet to find a Flanigan’s comparison here. Maybe Grills on the lake? Or Black Hammock bar and grill, that’s more in your neck of the woods. Their wings are great.

The closest I've ever found is a place called Jeremiah's in Mt Dora. Ribs taste exactly the same and the menu options and atmosphere are quite similar.

I miss their giant burgers and curly fries. I still have a few of the iconic greens cups after leaving Miami over 8 years ago

High Tide Harry's is a seafood restaurant first and foremost, but I love it, and it kind of captures that beachy, South Florida coastal vibe that Flanigan's has.

This is my review: https://saboscrivner.com/2021/03/26/high-tide-harrys/[1][2]

They have some of the best happy hour food deals in town, and I love so many things on the menu, but I can't go without getting at least a dozen raw oysters (ideally at happy hour prices).

Supposedly they have great ribs, burgers, and steaks, but I admit I've never ordered those there.
