Mine was RIDICULOUS this month. I'm on the budget, and my bill was $382. I just checked, and last year, my bill was only $190. I don't know if the new parts they added to the meters is part of the reason, but my goodness! I already sit in the dark and try to use as little as possible.

ETA: My bill last month was only $96.

1686 square foot ranch. No budget plan. Therm set to 68. Gas and electric is $606. $200 more than last year. I have no idea why it's so high. Also have new front door, window and roof.

I hate Nipsco. They have regulatory capture in Indiana. Bunch of soulless crooks.

The meters are read by radio drive by or newer meters are on a network. Very rare to have anything not read these days.

My house is set to 62 and it was over $200 estimated. I had them do a gas meter exchange because it was estimated about 70% of the time over the last year my mom owned it. They added a part instead. And it's still estimated.

I never trusted that budget jive. The minute nipsco said they were doing you a favor should have been a red flag.

Gas was estimated, electricity was actual.

I’m not sure if they estimated but they sure did a bad job. It’s very high.

$310. Last month was $315. Before that, I never even sniffed $240

Mine was crazy. For Gas, it showed actual reading for January but went as far back as the last actually reading from March 2024. It refunded me all I had paid for gas since then and then charged me the entire difference between the two readings. The worst part is I am being charged the new rate of gas for all of that. Electricity was normal tho with actual readings. My bill ended up being $348

They raised the rates last fall. Expect them to be a lot higher next time, as well.

Mine didn't go up much. I'm on the payment plan. Replaced the roof, HVAC, water heater and washer this year. House is 1500 sq ft. $162 last year and $177 this month.
