Yeah. I'm researching nature based solutions for grad school and got to watch the white house and state.gov sites break the links in real time. FEMA, epa, and DOI resources are still up, but it's only a matter of time.

Download what you can, archive what you can, save as much as you can

I'm sure if we just pretend it doesn't exist, that'll solve everything.

Man who could have seen this coming. Almost like MAGA is in fact on the side of censorship and not free speech.

They’re gonna trash NOAA and the NWS next, basically putting vital weather and climate information behind a paywall when some private company snatches them up. Like imagine you didn’t know a tornado was about to tear down your home because you didn’t pay to get severe weather alerts

funny how they think removing it will erase it for good. there are resources that cache and archive past versions of sites. it will never properly go away.

not to mention removing it doesnt mean it isnt an issue. these people have the mental capacity of an infant with no object permanance

"...removal of ~~climate change~~ ***basic, fundamental science***"

This is not trivial. Science is humanity's greatest achievement, without which we would still be living in caves - and dying in our 30s.

Science denial is an existential threat to human civilization.

It's amazing how the right thinks by erasing the mere mention of climate change will somehow make it go away. The rest of the world is laughing at just how stupid and futile it is.

There's a version of this timeline wherein these people one day are held accountable for all of this and then spend the rest of their lives in prison.

The US TREASURY is in jeopardy from an unelected, not appointed maniac.

Allies of billionaire Tesla and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk are reportedly attempting to gain control of the U.S. Treasury's payment systems that handle roughly $6 trillion in payments every year. Now, the top career official at the Treasury Department is resigning.

That's according to a Friday article in the Washington Post, which reported that surrogates of Musk's "Department of Government Efficiency," or "DOGE" (which is not yet an official government agency authorized by Congress) are now aiming to control the Bureau of the Fiscal Service (BFS). The BFS oversees payment systems that make trillions of dollars in payments annually to households and businesses, as well as to Americans receiving Social Security and Medicare benefits. https://www.reuters.com/world/us/musk-aides-lock-government-workers-out-computer-systems-us-agency-sources-say-2025-01-31/

“Every record has been destroyed or falsified, every book has been rewritten, every picture has been repainted, every statue and street and building has been renamed, every date has been altered. And that process is continuing day by day and minute by minute. History has stopped. Nothing exists except an endless present in which the Party is always right.” - George Orwell, 1984.

If, and it's a big if, we survive this coup, i look forward to when the Trump name will only be mentioned alongside Hitler, Stalin, Mussolini, Mao, etc.

...and the new masters brought new words, and revisions for old ones... but all the words of humankind have never once been considered, respected, or even heard, by the universe; and it alone will judge them inadequate, in all forms, and in perpetuity, for their lack of consideration, respect, or attention to it.

As predicted, and it follows that NASA will not be allowed to conduct any additional research on the subject. All existing data will be deleted, the NWS will be dismantled and privatized, and climate science research will be funded by Europe and Asia. ....
