This could possibly be the Telcos fault.  Txt messages are hit and miss when sending a lot.  If NZ Blood sent a couple hundred thousand of these then no doubt they companies have a way of throttling when they are sent.

But,  you should send a bit of feedback to the Blood Service and let them know it was frustrating to receive at such a nasty hour.

Has New Zealand removed the restriction on UK residents during the vCJD outbreak donating blood? It was very frustrating to see blood donation appeals and not be able to help. Australia changed the rule a couple of years ago and I've done a few donations since then.
