The song choices in the directors cut completely change the vibe of some scenes and feel very out of place if you see the theatrical cut first.
The worst part about the directors cut though is they give away too much of the mystery at the end. You can come to your own conclusions after a few viewings of the theatrical cut which is part of the fun and mystique. The directors cut says “don’t bother rewatching, look I’ll spell it all out for you” which is hugely unwelcome to fans and now the experience is kinda spoiled for new viewers watching for the first time.
