Howdy Mods,
Good news everyone[1] - we fixed bugs CM-660 and CM-607, two longstanding bugs that had been negatively impacting moderators.

Oh, you’re not familiar with bugs CM-660 and CM-607[2]? Let’s dive in then…
2: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Mx4nJg5iFOs
Bug CM-660 was a tricky bug that allowed former mods of a subreddit to see and respond to old modmails that were in their personal inbox. We have now closed this modmail loophole, and former mods are no longer able to see these messages today.
Bug CM-607 was a problematic bug that occurred when moderators muted members of their community via the modmail mute tool. In these instances, the hidden text marker (i.e. u/moderator [hidden]) in modmail was missing in the message being sent to the Redditor being muted. This would make it appear to moderators that their username was the sender instead of the subreddit in these messages (to be clear - while it appeared this way, your usernames were never exposed to the muted user). This understandably caused a lot of concern amongst all of you. Thankfully this is no longer the case, and today the name of the subreddit will now appear as the sender of these mute notifications in modmail.
Thank you to everyone who reported these bugs to us, and for your patience while our product teams spent time engineering a solution. If you continue to spot bugs in the wild while moderating, please do not hesitate to hit us up in r/modsupport, and we will make sure it gets routed to the correct team.
Please let us know if you have any questions or feedback below in the comments.

Really glad to see the modmail bug sorted out, thanks!
Gonna shoot my shot here - any chance y'all have a ticket open for spoiler formatting on old.reddit? The tags are inconsistent between old.reddit and new.reddit, leading to accidental spoilers which is an especially big concern for us at /r/ffxiv leading into a new expansion.
Here's some examples:
Old reddit: https://i.imgur.com/BeVpXPV.png
New reddit: https://i.imgur.com/IK7F54F.png
The space in-between the opening spoiler tag and the text leads to revealed spoilers on old.reddit. It would be a huge load off our shoulders to have this fixed, as it's led to confusion/unintentional spoilers for our users and sometimes even creates friction for us when trying to educate them on the issue.
Thanks!

Wait, is there a (Semi-Public) bug tracker that we can submit bugs to? Or is that just internal? Because boy do I have some bugs to report about the WYSIWYG editor on new reddit. It's borderline unusable if you have more than a few lines of text or want to use code formatting.

I don't know if it's recognized or reported anywhere, but there's a bug where you change a post flair on mobile and it doesn't show up on the browser version. Sometimes it gets reverted in the mobile version as well.
This makes fixing flair on mobile useless.

Wonderful! Has anyone else experienced UI issues with the modmail on mobile? I can't seem to see what I am typing until I hide rhe keyboard. On a Galaxy S10 FWIW.

May I ask why you're referring to them, with us, with this naming convention? Is there some non-internal bug ticketing system we can submit to?

I had no idea of these bugs, as I became a mod only about a year ago

Really excited to hear that there's a category of bugs that aren't also problems.

Totally unrelated to your post but the fancy new removal reason mini-banner in the mod queue on new reddit is a huge blessing! No more need to mouse over the tiny automod icon to try to see the reason for removal.

Can you please tell me how to see a subreddit minus submissions with a specific flair?
We want a way for people to see all but political threads, but it's seemingly impossible.
Help?

Any hope on the replies to mute notifications not appearing in modmail bug being resolved?
