As mentioned in our last couple of posts, we’ve been focusing on three core themes for improving moderation this last year:
One of the biggest complaints we hear from mods is that they’re not aware of what’s going on in their community and that it is really inefficient to access their communities and essential mod features (like ModQueue).
In an effort to learn more about how we can make it easier to use Mod features, this week we’re starting an experiment on iOS to make it easy to get to your community's content and ModQueue.
Users in the experiment will find a new mod shield in the right top of the app. If you tap it you’ll find a feed of all your communities and your ModQueue easily accessible. When new ModQueue items are available, we’ll include a little alert to help you know.
An example of what the experimental feature looks like
Our intent is to learn from the experiment and get feedback from you all on how to evolve the experience (so don’t fall too much in love with this for now). Let us know what you think about it in the comments.

Is there support for the removal reasons when removing a post? Ideally it should appear when removing a post. Maybe a option on the sub for that?

Absolute bare minimum to be able to mod on mobile:
1. **User notes**
2. Modqueue
3. Removal reasons
Without all three, there is basically nothing I can do. It is, for these three things, all or nothing.
Also, wasn't the whole point of new reddit and the new app that it would be easy to maintain feature parity? Pretty disappointing to see this restricted to iOS.

Simple solution.
You'll understand the problem real quick.

I genuinely ask, how do you guys think any of these mobile UIs you keep pumping out, look at all like a good UX experience?
There is so much wasted space, that could show you relevant and purposeful information, rather than soft spacing and padding.

Are the admins planning on adding the mod logs onto the mobile app anytime soon?

Including the Mod Log would be a really helpful addition.

The focus should be features that are absent. Missing features is more detrimental to modding on mobile than implementation of existing ones.

It is frustrating that iOS has many features that Android does not, and also receives mod support like this. I only have Android devices and have no access to iOS. I find the disparity very frustrating.

Do any admins ever use reddit mobile? Because it seems to me as though if even one of you did for just five minutes you'd see that it's absolute garbage and the nine million missing features would be immediately apparent. No "learning" or "experimenting" required.

How about a mobile experience which doesn't bug me to look at:
Yes, I know you can click "show me less of this", but then it just all comes back. It's honestly the worst fucking experience I have in a mobile app at the moment, and I've tried[1] to raise[2] it in the official channels, but it gets ignored[3] every single time.

Stop adding shit or preventing me from turning shit off without asking what users actually want.

Any chance of finally bringing the filtered mod pages to new Reddit and mobile?
For reference, you can exclude subs here: https://old.reddit.com/me/f/mod/[1] and then all the associated mod tools only show for the remaining subs.

That and the ability to load queues for custom feeds, even just sub1+sub1 notation.
These features make it much easier to put the focus on subs that need more attention while letting you keep yourself from getting overwhelmed on others.

Mod mail push notifications?

My most frustrating experience with mobile moderation is comment removals. I wish comment removals on mobile were more like the desktop version. On desktop I can just remove a comment, add the removal reason comment, distinguish the removal comment and copy the removed comment link no sweat. But on mobile I have to remove the comment, scroll all the way up to turn off mod mode, go back and make the removal comment, go back up and turn on mod mode and go back down again to distinguish. It's nightmarishly annoying on big controversial threads where I have to remove a lot of comments. Fixing this should be a big priority imo.

I want to get modmail notifications etc, it's a bit crap when I don't realise that a user is trying to contact me

Whatever you did a week ago made modmail quit working for me AGAIN! All I get is an empty page.
Modmail also quit working for me for several hours after you added the typing indicators to modmail.
I'm using an old 3rd gen iPad and Safari as my browser.
And this really worries me because I'll be forced to use modmail for all the subs I mod starting next month.

I simply can't mod properly on mobile. Therefore i always wait to perform most tasks when on my computer, wich is not optimal but allows me to make better quality modship.

This is something that has been sorely lacking...some type of notification on the front page that I have something in the queue. It's one way I monitor the queue on desktop and I've always felt on mobile I was flying blind.

I still hate new modmail. It's more difficult to use and doesn't play well with adblockers. I have to do about 10x more clicks to accomplish anything, and then remember to individually mark every stupid Automod report as read and/or archiving it instead of just looking at it and moving on.
If y'all ever disable old.reddit, I'm seriously out. Stop "improving" things by nerfing the interface and start adding real functionality. Why can't I perma-mute an abusive user when I permaban from a sub, for example?

How do you disable moderator mode when viewing a post via this new Mod Queue? I’d like to leave a reply but am unable to. You have to exit everything and find the post manually to reply.
