I'm a diehard Boost fan, and I'd like to moderate on the go from my phone. However, there doesn't seem to be a way to switch from user to mod in the app. I'm asking in the Boost subreddit as well, but I figured some mods might have some experience with it or other apps.

Absolutely, but maybe not on that app. If you're on Android, I recommend Relay for Reddit.

I do most of my modding from the RIF app. It works well enough for most of what I need to do.

I use "Slide" for android when using Reddit on my phone...
P.S. I don't think there's really any need to "switch from user to mod"...most apps I've tried simply have an icon or something for mod actions to be made on a post or comment.
