Hi everyone.
I’m appealing to the community for some guidance/help/advice/support please.
There is a subreddit that exists that only has one moderator. This is important because said mod is only allowing negative posts to exist on the subreddit about the topic it is focused on, and anytime a user posts a positive review/post the aforementioned mod then promptly removed those posts.
This has been going on for almost 2 years. I have filed reports on the web for 2 years, and it is still happening. The mod is not allowing for constructive conversation to occur on the subreddit and is perpetuating a full blown smear campaign against this individual and their business, with the intention very clear to cause harm.
I’m very lost and really hope someone can help me with this. Ideally I would like the subreddit removed completely because it’s being used to harass and defame a particular individual and their business. Thank you for your time.

The reality is that moderators can run subreddits as they see fit so long as they don't violation the Moderator Code of Conduct or the Terms of Service.
If it's truly smearing someone and their business, the best option (not saying it's guaranteed to solve the issue) would be for legal representation on behalf of that individual to contact Reddit.

A lead moderator generally has broad discretion as to the content and POV of a community. If you don't like it you can join another community, or create your own.
That said, there are still site-wide rules[1] which *are* enforced by administrators.. And the behavior you are describing could violate those rules, especially the rule against harassment[2] and the one against posting private or personal information[3].

But the behavior you describe in the first paragraph doesn't necessarily violate these rules. They can post negative opinions and reviews of a company, can censor positive opinions and reviews, and aren't necessarily required to allow constructive conversation.
But if there is content that goes beyond things like criticisms of products and business practices and instead amounts to abuse or personal attacks, that is what you should report.

From my experience, admins never step in to help. I’d like to be proven wrong. I was targeted by an entire group from a single subreddit, sent harassment messages, wrongful reports, and received mass downvotes. The admins and subreddit mods did nothing—in fact, the mods have left the post and hateful comments up. Also, I was permanently banned from that sub without ever posting on it. Good luck with what you're trying to do.

Hi /u/dontsassmyfrass, please see our Intro & Rules[1]. We are volunteer-run, not managed by[2] Reddit staff/admin[3]. Volunteer mods' powers are limited to groups they mod. Automated responses are compiled from answers given by fellow volunteer mod helpers. *Moderation works best on a cache-cleared desktop/laptop browser*.
