Ah, so there's a cook-your-own-widget option. Interesting. No doubt a subreddit to host posts about the ones people make will be forthcoming.

There is! It's been tucked away in the widget menu for a while now - I'm not sure how many use it, especially while it's still so glitchy. It does enable more creativity and options for the new reddit sidebar though.
