Creating Post and User flair in redesign

There's an overview of what flair can be used for here[1].

Here is a walk through of how to create flair[2]

Adding Emojis

**here is how to add emojis**

(**Note - 21st May 2021** - testing on flair position[8] is occurring and the new positioning seems to ignore emoji size settings at the moment. Testing started on mobile but is now being seen on desktop too)

Adding post flair to the sidebar

Adding post flair filters to the sidebar can help users navigate your subreddit and find what they are looking for easier. One example is ours on r/modguide[11] - you can filter our guide by topic using our post flairs.

Adding post flair to your sidebar is easy in redesign, here's our guide on adding a post flair widget

For old.reddit I find it easiest to make flair in redesign first as above, and then add the links into the classic sidebar. You'll need to have your sub open in redesign and old.reddit to start; here's our guide on adding post filter links to the classic sidebar[13] where I add a missing filter link for a new post flair.

We will have a guide on creating flair in old.reddit soon.

Fantastic guide on Imgur.

It all seems so simple and intuitive now that I've done it, that I feel dumb for not being able to do it before.

Just a note on this, because I wanted to put this somewhere. I have subreddits that were created before the "new Reddit" redesign, including link and post flairs. With no formatting on them, mind you, just the default appearance. Nowadays I kind of swap back and forth between old and new Reddit, depending on which features I need to access. Recently somebody gave me an idea for a new flair, so I added it using the new Reddit interface. Again just leaving the default appearance. And it looked different, in both old and new Reddit.

Here's a demonstration: https://imgur.com/gallery/CRDfrlj[1][2]

So the flair created in old Reddit and viewed in old Reddit have an #F5F5F5 background with that little outline around it. Those flair viewed in new Reddit have an #EDEFF1 background. User flair created in new Reddit have a background of #FFFFFF in both places, which I think is hard to see if the general background color is also the default white. Post flair created in new Reddit have a background of #DBDBDB in both places. Also of note is the flair created in new Reddit, when seen in old Reddit, have a larger font size than the flair created in old Reddit.

At this point, I don't specifically care whether they look like the ones created in old Reddit or new Reddit, I just want them to look *the same* as each other within both particular views. Fortunately, the solution turns out to be simple. If you apply a background color to a flair from the new Reddit interface, it will update in old Reddit at the same time, with no need to do any CSS stylesheet stuff. The font size is also changed to match flair that was created in new Reddit in the first place.

Perhaps there is something to be said for the post flair and user flair looking different from each other, though. I plan to go with: Post flair #DBDBDB User flair #EDEFF1

Thanks. It's explained properly, it's done. And it is working as should. Rarely possible today. All the best.

I've tried most every avenue. I still can't get flair to be enabled in my sub.

This is ridiculous, reddit.
