View submission: Canada's Trudeau announces counter tariffs
I mean what i said. A 25% blanket tariff to stop "Illegal immigration and fentanyl" from *Canada* makes close to no sense and Canada has been stonewalled when asking what the US exactly wants them to do. Because no one seems to be able to provide a clear explanation on it.
Just because the trump admin threw out that reasoning to make it fall under "national security" (and thus give him the ability to do it) doesn't make it so. Especially since no one has provided a clear explanation as to what it means/ what needs to be done.
The Canadian government hasn’t done anything to limit Chinese influence in their country either.
And I'm sure their "closest" ally deciding to launch a trade war against them will definitely move them away from Chinese influence.

Fent comes from ports, Canada doesn’t put effort into stopping fent coming from ports, Americans die. If Canada doesn’t know how to govern to the point where they can’t stop fent coming over an entire ocean, then they really aren’t much of a country.
“America please tell me how I can stop my citizens from smuggling drugs into your country 😭”
Not a very logical excuse is it.
And for the Canadians to not already being anti China and limiting influence is more of a reason to impose tariffs.
Fall in line or we will give you a reason to fall in line.
