You are willfully overlooking the fact that the Canadian government is allowing criminal organizations to produce fentanyl in their country for export to America. To put this into perspective, the Canadian government cares more about protecting the criminal fentanyl producers in their country than they do about their own citizens getting hurt by a trade war. That's on Canada, not Trump.

You are willfully overlooking the fact that the Canadian government is allowing criminal organizations to produce fentanyl in their country for export to America.
By that logic, the American government is allowing Americans in the US to import fentanyl and consume it.
