Add after the first sentence: “Just like we said it would be all campaign long.”
Keep repeating that the voters were warned constantly before they voluntarily drove this country off a cliff.

Yay tax cut:
(People don't realize this buffers the tariffs harm)
No one learns anything and think tariffs are good. We are this fucking stupid.

Canadian here. It sucks what's happening - on both sides.
I have been such an admirer of your governor since he was announced as VP candidate. Y'all are really lucky to have Coach Walz. I wish everyday I was seeing him and Kamala on my screens.

Sure it's a decrease but it's expected the average person saves $42/year. But the increases in taxes on professional services is expected to cost people $630 on average.
Now I think that the increase is heavily weighted towards higher income earners (good thing) I don't think this cut is actually substantive.

This is why I desperately want to move to this state. Not the tax cuts. The thought and compassion behind all this. A message to Washington. Its *something.*

This would be amazing. It’s also long overdue.
Consumption taxes (sales tax) are extremely regressive. We should honestly look into abolishing them altogether and making up the difference with higher income tax.

If Walz and Harris had traded places on the ticket, would we still be in this mess?

The tax cut he’s proposing lowers state sales tax from 6.875% to 6.8%. Hardly a drop in the bucket of taxes. To add to that it increases taxes on “professional services.”

God this man should've been prez just like Bernie. Truly an alternate timeline we live in where nothing was learned from the 1930s/1940s

Amazing. The Trumpers in his state will just gaslight themselves into attributing his tax cuts to Trump tho.

Minnesota collects approximately $7,451 per capita in state and local tax collections. In terms of state income tax specifically, Minnesota has one of the highest individual income tax rates in the country, with a top marginal rate of 9.85% for individuals earning more than $164,400 and couples earning more than $273,470.
When it comes to overall tax burden, which includes personal income taxes, property taxes, and sales and excise taxes, Minnesota ranks as having the eighth highest tax burden in the U.S. with an average overall tax burden of 9.41%. Specifically for state income tax, Minnesota’s tax system ranks 44th on the 2025 State Tax Competitiveness Index, indicating it is not considered particularly competitive due to its higher rates.

The narrative for the next 4 years needs to be consistent, simple, and easily digestible:
-Republicans are making you poorer. We will fix that.
-Republicans are making you less safe. We will fix that.
-Republicans are making the US weaker. We will fix that.
That is, frankly, the maximum complexity that the average American can understand, and we need to pound it into their heads.

I’m concerned with lowering taxes with the federal government talking about getting rid of important things like the department of education, wouldn’t that leave those things to be funded entirely by the state or am I just dumb?
