Thank you very much but unfortunately almost none of these books are digitized. (Also is that subreddit filled with advice on how to pirate things? I know a lot of people do it but I wouldn't. But maybe the subreddit name is just misleading...)

Ah, gotcha!

Yes, that's the subreddit for pirating digital products - movies, books, games, software, etc. There're various ethical points for pirating, however piracy exists and in current age of digital-only products that are at the mercy of its creators supporting and hosting it, ones accessible only via subscriptions, country-locked content, etc., piracy seems to be doing quite well. Region-locking is a my personal pet peeve with HBO Max and Amazon Prime.

IMO if I've already paid for a book, album, movie etc. in a physical format I have no issues 'pirating' that to obtain a digital copy. I've already paid for the intellectual property. If not, I'd rather pay for it.
