View submission: Life without social media
Oh for sure. I have major FOMO about everything. So definitely expected this. But still sucks. Making more meaningful experience in my life is a goal for sure.
But one thing I really am struggling with is finding things to do with kids without my local fb/insta pages that always showed things in my area. I’m sure there are websites but it was nice to have it all in one place.

I was totally worried about the same thing regarding social connections/events to take my kids to. My town has at least two different local moms who publish a website (Ann Arbor with Kids, blanking on the other one…) that has all the weekly/monthly local kid-friendly events in the area.
My other advice if you want it, at the next “kid event” you go to, try to make a connection with another parent there and exchange numbers and then actually follow and text them to arrange a hang out for the kids, or you :-) AND Check your local library’s website for their calendar of events (story times, my library does cool stuff for older kids like LEGO club and Pokemon Clubs, Minecraft role-playing club, reading to therapy dogs, story book club for elementary kids, etc). Attend these regularly and you will naturally start to make connections and expand upon your knowledge of social-happenings :)
