Hi guys, I’m going to the maldives in about a month and while reading online I came across information on poisonous fish. I was just wondering how common for example stonefish are around the island resorts and if it’s neccessary to use aqua shoes when being in the ocean. I’ve been to Mauritius before and there were signs about it everywhere on the beaches there so I was just wondering how it is in the Maldives.

Nope, don't worry about it.
You're far more likely to get a cut from sharp coral than you are from stepping on a poisonous fish. So you could still wear beach shoes in the shallows if you prefer, although the vast majority of people go barefoot.
Once you get to waist-height water, better to swim/snorkel anyway, so you don't stand on anything (harmless or not).
Ask locally - occasionally there are jellyfish warnings. 🪼
