I rode a Mercedes last week, and I'm impressed by how smooth the feeling is, it's like being hugged by a cloud. Apart from the price, is there a reason why I shouldn't get one for my next car (assuming I can afford it)?

For newer merz models - The tyres itself will set you back (1.5-2.5k per tyre)

The newer models especially the Mercedes-EQ has a lot of software issues. It's still a huge gamble IMO because there's still cases of cars just rolled out of the showroom coming back because of random issues. You should get the Agility financing so that you'll also receive MobilityPlus which provides with a courtesy car if your car is stuck at the dealer for 2 days or more.
The most reliable "new" Mercedes in my experience is the previous E300 facelift. Still well equiped but doesn't have much software bullshit issues.
