Completely new to TRE - I tried the exercises to induce tremors twice now, and they have not worked. No tremors happen. My legs were so tired, I then went to the floor, butterfly pose, nothing. Can anyone shed any light on what might be happening, please?

TIA

It first worked for me when I did a wall sit until they started shaking - it took me 12 minutes or so for the first few times.

Like the other commenter says, it helps to really get the burn going in your legs during the wall-sit. Then do the butterfly pose and really try to push your bottom up high. Keep going until you now feel the burn in this pose. Sometimes, you might even begin to feel some shaking at this stage.

After this, lower your bottom to the floor, still in butterfly pose, and take about a minute where you just let your knees hang out sideways as far as they can go. You'll feel a stretch in the tendons either side of your crotch.

After that minute is over, remaining in butterfly pose with your bottom on the floor, just very, very, very slowly start lifting up your knees bit by bit. Like, lift them up by 2cm and hold there for a minute, then lift up a further 2cm, and repeat.

I suspect most people will be shaking well before the time when their knees are starting to approach vertical. Once you are shaking, you can then turn your feet flat with your soles on the floor so you're no longer in butterfly pose but with your feet about 10-20cm apart.

Once you're like this and shaking, if you later feel the shaking start to subside, just widen the position of your knees by about 2cm (without moving your feet), and this will often prompt fresh shaking for a few more minutes. You can then bring your knees in by 2cm again a few minutes later and it will have the same effect, and so on.
