Hi - I’ve been doing TRE daily for about 5 weeks for 20 minutes followed by 5 min rest.
I have been doing it on a soft (2” thick) foam mat, but yesterday did on the floor and noticed more tremoring.
Wondering if anyone had any guidance about how much surface matters for practice.
Thanks!

The harder you can go without it being uncomfortable is probably best. I like to just lay down on my rug or yoga mat. The body uses the pressure of the floor to push against to help create the tremors, so if it’s too soft it kind of gets in the way. When animals go through this process (and they go through it much more efficiently than most humans) they just do it on the ground where they’re at. Whatever comes intuitively and naturally.

I tremor better on softer surfaces because it doesn't hurt as much to bang my bones around. If I do it on hardwood floor, I get bruises all over after.

Mostly, I just shake on a hardwood floor with a pillow under my head. But I'm not sure it would terribly bother me what surface I was on.
