R4: Buongiorno a tutti, basically this is the wikipedia post for incoative verbs (the verbs in italian that are conjugated with -isc- like capire / capisco), they use "sesta persona" to refer to the 3rd person plural, but I found it funny.

4th person does exist, if you define "3rd" person as proximate 3rd person and "4th" person as the obviate, in proximate-obviate systems like in Algolquian languages. No reason you couldn't. If it were an Algonquian language speaker who made our linguistic terminology, they'd be wondering why these other languages have only 3 persons instead of the rightful 4.

(Discussing Italian, “6th person” is another term for “3rd person plural”, with “3rd person” specifically implying “3rd person singular”. You can easily guess what 4th and 5th person would be. Afaik most contemporary Italian textbooks no longer conform to this classification)
