Credit goes to Seoul Central District Court that rejected the Prosecution Office's request to extend the investigations after the Corruption Investigation Office (CIO) failed to get anything from Yoon. Yoon was probably hoping the CIO would send him over to the Prosecution Office, because that's his own turf full of connections. The right-wing tried to interpret the move as if the SCDC was trying to free Yoon, but in reality, the SCDC saw there was no logic in giving the Prosecutors more time to delay the court proceedings by investigating Yoon, when Yoon did not comply with the investigations carried out by the CIO.

Yoon used the prosecution service (arguably Korea's most corrupt institution) to rise to power by prosecuting PGH (president impeached in 2016), and Cho Guk (one of the contenders from the Democratic Party in the last presidential race).

It was none other than the DP (leftist) supporters who backed Yoon to reform the prosecution service. Yoon rode the left's support, and once he was in power, he backstabbed the DP, and the president who appointed him by prosecuting key members of the DP.

His aggressive prosecutions effectively paralyzed the DP and President Moon Jae-in's administrative capacity in the last 2 or so years. Despite promising his supporters using strong words such as '적폐청산', Moon was spooked by the PO, and maintained a neutral stance when the DP was being attacked, and therefore, the PO reforms, and other promises, such as the continuation of RMH's sunshine policy on North Korea, could not be carried out properly. This made Moon and the DP lose support from both the left and right. The right-wing, saw a weakened and vulnerable DP, and started using populist media (like enemizing the haves (기득권) and spreading stereotypes of leftist views by interweaving them with broken bureaucracies and the rising socioeconomic gap (fascism), encouraging anti-China [racial propaganda] and anti-feminist views) and fake news to rip apart the DP. This left the DP unable to make meaningful progress on policy developments because their attention was preoccupied by responding to fake news and populist media. Consequentially, Korean politics has become more divided than ever before.

Even if we impeach YSY, populism will remain Korea's greatest enemy.

Did the legal proceedings take this long for the cultish president/other presidents that got removed recently? As an American, I just assume that legal proceedings that take this long are banking on the public forgetting and then letting the criminal be president again.

Does this subreddit remove all message that supports Yoon or any other comments that is considered conservative?

I rarely see any comments that shows the other perspective of things on this subreddit.
