As a non-resident (less than two years in the US), I am not allowed to file my income tax with Turbo Tax. And since this would be my first filing, I do not have the access code to do this online on the state tax website.
So I was wondering, other than Sprintax, which would charge me $49.95 if there is a cheaper alternative that I could use. The paper form appears a bit complex to me. TIA for any info.

I use freetaxusa - $0 federal, $14.99 per state. But it looks like it doesn't support nonresidents. $49.95 doesn't seem that bad, you're stills saving money over paying a tax preparer.

Look at finding a VITA clinic at a local university. I did non-resident returns there all the time. Plus it's completely free.
