I'm still shaking as I write this. There was some person driving the wrong way on 45 south this morning close to airline drive and I almost had a head on collision because of them.
So be careful!!

My brother drives an ambulance in Houston. He told me to never drive in the far left lane on the freeway at night here. The drunks get on driving the wrong way and keep to their right, which would be your left lane. Every time they work a wrong way head-on it’s in that far left lane. FYI

Pretty sure I saw someone died a few hours ago due to a head on collision with a wrong way driver, hoping the incidents are unrelated SMH RIP

Wrong way drivers absolutely infuriate me because there's a very basic logic of "seeing white lights ahead" vs "seeing red lights ahead" that they don't seem to comprehend.

HPD hasn’t been doing shit about drunk drivers. All these “after hours” places are popping up so the alcoholics don’t have to go home at 2am and they can just keep drinking until 5-6am. Problem is now they are on the roads when people are trying to drive to work/ school

I had a wrong way driver almost hit me head-on, on Veterans Memorial @ BW8!!!! I thought they might be swerving a little too dramatically to get onto the left turn lane but they kept creeping closer to me and I laid in on them with my honking and it was like they woke up or looked up from their phone. Fucking pieces of shit. I’m okay, but I was with my family at that time and was severely shaken up driving the rest of the way home :(

It’s very frightening, had to avoid a wrong way driver years ago on south way side exiting I 10. Glad you’re safe, RIP to those who weren’t so lucky.

Does this ONLY happen here? I cover the West Coast for work and I never hear or see this happening in LA, Portland, Vegas etc

I watched someone ignore several wrong way signs to take the Jenson exit as an onramp onto i10 at downtown last weekend. Honking and waving did nothing, they were determined to be wrong. All I could say was good luck everybody.

Happened to me 2-3 weeks ago on 249. Was heading southbound in the middle lane at 215am… I see headlights coming toward me and this pickup was ZOOMIN in the left lane (my left lane, by the Jersey barrier).
Shook me good

Seems like every this is a frequent occurrence on 45 every Saturday night into sunday morning. Police need to step up their presence on 45 after the bars close.

That’s crazy. I’ve been in the position of being the wrong way driver but it was a situation at night where the road suddenly changed from being two lanes going one way to one lane going both ways with very deteriorated paint and no signs. Thankfully low traffic and the low-speed oncoming driver signaled me to move over and I did, mortified.
Can’t imagine how scary it was to be in a situation like that where the road traffic is very obviously meant to go the opposite direction of this crazy driver.
