That is a ridiculous answer, and just goes to show. Why don’t you finish that thought - what legitimate reason does Russia have for ending Ukrainian independence, and forcibly taking this country which so clearly does not want to be a part of Putin’s vision?

There reason is they can’t be pushed out of Ukraine and in their minds they won’t lose the war. So why would they if they can establish part of Ukraine as their territory? It’s like asking why genghis khan didn’t stop pillaging and conquering. The whole world isn’t sunshine and rainbows, unlike how you think the world is.
