Communism in the purest Marxist sense has never existed and has failed when attempted, because that communism only exists when there is no government

Communism only exists when every single individual would be hold by its own Moral. For example Christian, do not steal, do not lie. Government exists to menage different people and different diviations from "good behavior" If everyone would behave, we would have communism. But also, today, by my view, it is not only about Moral. It is about large communities of people. Communism should be built from smaller (wich actually still exist in some tribelike families) community to larger states, not in reverse

To go along with what you are saying, If there are no evil corporations where will the villains work? Communism is a a beautiful thing when it is established as a community first. Achieving a natural state. Unfortunately as most beautiful things, it is used as a dangling carrot leading us to the slaughter. Humanity, leadership has not proven(since beginning of civilization)as worthy of such power. A few paradoxical(of human behavior)civilizations may have been able to implement, but did not...
