after listening to the Dan Carlin Hardcore history episode where he mentions Rasputin, and all the superstitions around him, I wouldn't be a shock.

It's actually surprisingly difficult to kill a human being. It isn't just our intelligence that makes humans unique. Humans can survive incredible amounts of trauma that would easily kill any other type of animal.

So I doubt Rasputin was unique in his persistence of not dying.

I was kinda let down to find out that all the rumors of his immortality were from one incident. I thought he got shot / stabbed / poisoned on a few different occasions. Regardless that episode was really interesting.
