I found a wallet on the street in Geneva. It contains ID, drivers license etc. but there is no phone number or contact details for the owner. I intend to drop it in to the local police station, but it’s not open again till Monday and I’m concerned the owner will be worried about their stuff all weekend. Any ideas for any other way I could contact them before the police option to return the wallet. Thanks!

Depending on how common their surname is, you may be able to track down a relative through social media that can put you in contact with the wallet's owner. But that takes some detective work and needs to be done carefully to avoid fraud.

Look them up on LinkedIn. Not in Geneva - does police close on the weekends?

If there are bank or credid cards you could try to call the bank and let them know. They will contact the owner.
I did that when i found a wallet and couldn't go to the station.

drop as quick as possible to a police station, so the policeman will be able to lookup phone and contact the owner as soon as possible.

linkedin, facebook or even local.ch[1] you might find his name there along with a phone number.
Otherwise just drop it at the lost and found office, probably the first place he/she will look when he/she realizes they lost their wallet.

You have to go to the tiny one in the airport . This one is 100% open 7/7 . Or if I’m not wrong the one by the train station is open today.
