View submission: bigger gemini protocol community

The Gemini community as a whole is extremely tiny and lacks users: it's a niche project in a niche subculture.

If you want more geminauts to talk to then I recommend diving further in to the more hardcore sections of the SmallNet community: sign up for some tildes and start hanging around in those spaces - I know tilde.club especially has a ton of developers that would probably love chatting.

As someone who only has a tilde.town account… should I also start a tilde.club account? Or should I double down on supporting my own small community?

One big problem, which is usually dismissed as not being true, is that it is far too difficult for newbies to deploy / self-host a gemini server.

If this is recognized as a real problem, and fixed, then a lot more people might start using gemini.
