In physics, timing and placement are crucial so if we don't known when an atom will decay, then the decay is a probabilistic event. Probable is merely possible or chance with some sort of factor in terms of the odds of the chance event happening. We can put a half life on any relatively unstable atom to get the average time it will take an atom to decay. There is no known half life for a proton but the neutron is so unstable that in isolation its half life is around 15 minutes.

Of course we don’t know when an atom will decay and can only give a probability, everyone agrees with that. But some people think that the decay event is random and others think it is determined. It is an unresolved problem in physics. What words would you use to describe this problem?
