View submission: Desert

Rejecting moral desserts in a deterministic view rejects not just morality and responsibility (guilt) but also innocence as well. It is not true that everyone is innocent any more than it is true that everyone is responsible. Everyone is INVOLVED in everything in a fully causally connected cosmos.

That is a "pro choice" position as opposed to pro life or anti choice. A bit ironic, I would say. The unborn cannot be innocent once we reject the "inevitability" of a state of pregnancy. A natural miscarriage was not chosen. However the decision to abort does not seem to be out of the hands of the mother.

Everyone is INVOLVED in everything in a fully causally connected cosmos.

So if the mother of my child aborts against my desire then I'm the cause of my grief.
