I didn't think you would pick one. Your pick depends on what you mean by cause and not what I mean because you constantly conflate causality and determinism on this sub so you can mind fuck the other posters who are not as intelligent as you are.

If I had to pick one I would assume that “cause” without qualification means sufficient cause, so I would say that (1) is true. But I know that this is ambiguous, because not everyone assumes that this is what “cause” means. People like you who would pick (2) obviously are using a different meaning of “cause”.
