To me, just forget the TikTokesque interface.
It's so frustrating that the video goes in full screen, then you have to pull up for the comments which doesn't always work, pressing back to go back to side to side-scrolling and instead of going to the previous post, it refreshes and you start at the top of your feed. Keep Reddit as Reddit. That's way too many clicks which doesn't enhance my UX but diminishes it highly.
Due to the videos going full screen, the video takes a long time to load and sometimes doesn't load at all, having to stay saving the post, force exit the app, re-open the app, check the saved post, exhale, then remove it from the saved.
The fact that also when you get full screen, you can't swipe left... But you swipe down to continue to other posts which of course won't follow but would be of the same subreddit, which is not why I browse Reddit. I browse it to go through multiple subreddits and get different content - it's the beauty of Reddit afterall. If I want to stay browsing through the same content, I go to the specific subreddit and stay browsing there. So the fact that you have two different types of swiping is also a no-no in my books.
TL:DR: Stop trying to be TikTok, keep Reddit as Reddit, lessen taps = I'm happy.

This is ultimately why I stopped using the official app. But from their perspective, changing away from the TikTok model isn’t an option.
They’ve got investors to appease and those investors want ads. They need you exposed to as much video as possible uninterrupted, one full screen hellscape of ads to the next.
I suspect the devs know fully well that the TikTok video experience is awful but this is probably not something they’ll be allowed to change.

I am sick to HIGH HEAVEN of videos taking the liberty of going full screen no matter what every time I try to page out of a thread. It was fine as it was, being able to page back to whatever sub or feed with a single input.
Extremely more annoying is muscle memory of swiping up to dismiss a video still-- *STILL* taking over and causing something else I'm just NOT interested in seeing to pop up.
Such a worthless feature, at least let us easily turn it off.

This and also i miss the swipe right to go to the next post (it works for text and images but doesn't work for videos anymore strange cause it used to work). Now whenever I want to go to next post when I'm viewing a video is to go back to the feed, scroll down and select the video. Why make the change? I see that y'all want to add swipe right to go to comment. Please don't do that. Swipe right should always go to the next post. That's what makes reddit unique. Swipe up should show the comments. When in comments swipe down should show the video. This is not an opinion of just one person. If you run an a/b testing people would want the things which i mentioned above not the current system. Edit: To be even more clear, i want to swipe right to go next post for every kind of post. Images, videos, gif, polls, reddit talk, rpan, etc

100% agree the old video player before the tiktok one just worked and was easy to use, no one asked for a tiktok video player right?

This is the most vitally important thing. Unfortunately reddit is not going to listen to this. Apparently every app needs to become tiktok despite what its true purpose and niche actually is.

Now it's worse, images are also tiktok, and you can't download them anymore. Welcome to 1984

Scrolling to the next video should lead to the video or image below it in my feed, not a video part of a completely separate feed, even if the subreddit is the same. There should also be a setting to choose whether or not images and videos are included in the same scroll
